A Monster Calls

About the Show
Hunter School of the Performing Arts' Senior Drama Production of A Monster Calls is a moving and visually arresting stage production of the beloved novel by Patrick Ness. The play tells the story of a young boy who is visited by a mysterious monster as he grapples with his mother's terminal illness, bullying and the unspoken truths of grief. Through inventive staging and a powerful ensemble style, vivid stories are told that blur the line between myth and reality. Both magical and heartbreakingly honest, this production explores how we face loss, courage and the stories we tell to survive it all.
